We were analysing the Site Meter reports for Amazingly Wireless earlier this morning among our team members and we found that we have got some terrific traffic to our blog. Here are some of things that I feel got us some traffic:
Here is our where we got some of our traffic from. All over the globe. We had traffic from All over the USA, South America & Sydney Australia.

BTW, I also noticed that when I included someone's blog on my blogroll, they did revert the same. They included mine on their website.
This Site Meter is really helpful in figuring out who is reading our posts. Who is searching for what terms on the web. Interesting.. Kudos to site meter.

Site Meter is such a cool thing. I put a site meter on my blog now and I can see who is visiting my blog and more details.
One more cool thing is that I could see who, from which domain is visiting my blog. This could be a great thing for businesses to who what kind of customers are visiting. I dont know how much of a use this could be in the Consumer-based Businesses, but man, this could mean a big thing for B2B. If your company is selling to businesses, then, this is really useful, because you could literally see which companies have visited your website or your blog. Interesting. And.. if you upgrade your account, wow.. then you get more details than you ever want. this is cool.
I will have this setup on my company website..We currently have a sitemeter that we built ourselves, but this is much easier to do. But, hey.. my site meter account that I currently have is not letting me monitor more than one site, I guess. May be someone could help me on that? If so, please comment.
Thanks

Detroit Essentials is a great site that talks about stuff related to Detroit.
This blog covers topics all the way from Super Bowl that is happening in Detroit tomorrow to other things like culture, businesses, sports (pistons) in Detroit.
One of the posts about the infamous Michigan's U turn is a nice post for someone who came in new into Detroit, for example who came to Detroit for the SuperBowl. They would not know how to turn left at an intersection.
Interesting articles in there. Keep blogging on Detroit.. Atul, Jovina and Becky.

I thought this service was supposed to be free. Of course, they are going to offer the basic thing for free and you need to upgrade with MichTel if you want higher bandwidth. I dont know if 128kbps is enough.
Some of the readers of the post "Update on Oakland County, Wireless Project" comments that they are not even able to connect and added to that, the connection is way too slow. Hope they are going to fix all those speed issues.
Can anyone throw some light on what is the technology behind this Wi-Fi hotspots these guys are trying to install?
Cheers,
Steve

Having a wireless connection at school helps me a lot. It keeps me connected all the time. I can get a lot more work done, while I am there.
Click on this link "Wireless Map for Univ of Michigan" to figure out where you could get access to the WI-FI wireless hotspots.
UM Wireless Network is a wireless local area network (WiFi) available to all who have a valid University of Michigan uniqname and umich password. For detailed information about UM Wireless Network locations as well as other wireless networks available on campus, see University of Michigan wireless network locations.

Yes, this is where you find that.
wififreespot.com is a nifty website that provides a list of free wifi spots around the world. Though they try to keep the list upto date, it could have some faulty information.

This is a follow up post to the one that I posted regarding Oakland county becoming wireless soon. However, there is a big debate going on in the wireless world. Should counties like Oakland County in Michigan, municipalities and local governments install and run their own wireless networks.
Ed Vielmetti in one of his posts (YI-Tan call on Municipal Wireless) says that there is a big debate among local carriers and the local governments about this topic.
More on this in posts to follow.
